During the week of Community Health and Wellbeing Week, WellFort Community Health Services launched the first phase of our pharmacare campaign to draw attention to the challenges many in our communities face in accessing prescription medications and to call for universal drug coverage for all Ontarians. The campaign will take the form of a series of posters featuring strong messaging about the impact that a lack of prescription drug coverage has on individuals and a call for action.
The campaign hopes to to raise awareness to the public, gather support from policy influencers and put pharmacare on the radar of policy makers for the upcoming provincial elections. Advocating for our clients and community who face barriers accessing essential medications is one of the ways health equity is centred around our work!
The poster campaign will be launched at our health centre and on social media throughout the week. To support the call to action for universal pharmacare, we will be collecting signatures for a petition to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario calling for an investment in universal pharmacare in Ontario. Petitions will be available at our centre and online.
How can you join the campaign? Spread the message - let’s get the conversations going!
