Canada's Health Centres Applaud Federal Court Ruling on Protections for Refugees

July 4, 2014 (Toronto, ON) – The Canadian Association of Community Health Centres (CACHC) applauds today’s Federal Court ruling on refugee health care. The court calls the Government of Canada’s cuts to refugee health care coverage “cruel and unusual”, stating that major changes in 2012 to the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) for refugees clearly violate the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
