Jaineel Purohit

Board Chair

Jaineel Purohit has graduated with a Master’s degree at York University, specializing in Health Policy and Equity and a Bachelor’s degree in Health Studies specializing in Health Management. His Major Research Paper (MRP) in his Master’s program focused on whether or not the Central Local Health Integrated Network (Central LHIN) and the Toronto Central LHIN (TC LHIN) have a potential system in place to help raise awareness of the Social Determinants Of Health and help reduce health inequities experienced by the socially disadvantaged members in Ontario’s neoliberal society.

Jaineel is currently working as a Health Promoter for the Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention division at the Region of Peel. He is responsible for applying and leading the program planning and evaluation process to various projects across the healthy eating children and youth and healthy eating adult team including Marketing 2 Kids; Sugar Sweetened Beverages; Comprehensive Community Health Initiative.

Oscar Rodriguez


Oscar is currently working in the Ontario Public Sector focusing on Procurement and Business Improvement. Heis an accounting professional who has over 11 years experience and worked at the Office of the Auditor General of Ontario (OAGO), in which he had the opportunity to work on Value-For-Money (VFM) audits as well as financial audits; spanning various Ministries, crown corporations with focus on the health care sector involving work in hospitals; Community Care Access Centers and other health organizations. In addition he has private sector in pension accounting and operations management. He is currently continuing to build his experience with a focus on forensic and fraud investigations.

Oscar has resided with his family in Brampton over the last 28 years. He is currently also involved with MELIDEN, a new organization that is situated in Brampton which promotes Andean music artists from South America. He is also a member of the St. Marguerite d’Youville Parish and the Knights of Columbus.


Gagandeep Singh


Gagandeep is passionate about bringing a meaningful change in the society and positively touch the lives of community members. 

He came to Canada as an international student and has build a successful career in Canada. Currently, he leads a process improvement team at Rogers Communications where he's responsible for transformation efforts. Previously he has worked for Ministry of Health and Long-term Care and Royal Bank of Canada.

He holds a Masters in Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology (MBET) from University of Waterloo, Canada. He also holds MCA and MBA degrees from India and he is a qualified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

Gagandeep is also a Visiting Professor with Faculty of Applied Science and Technology, Humber College, Toronto. He has a distinct honour to be an alternate Board Member with Brampton Library Board of Directors.

He has lives in Brampton with his family.


Nicole Salmon


Nicole has proudly called Brampton home for 35+ years. Hailing from a large extended family with deep roots within the Brampton community and Peel Region, she is inspired by the vision and opportunity of creating caring, healthy, just, welcoming and inclusive communities. She believes the best way of achieving this vision is to roll up her sleeves, engage and commit her time, energy and resources to building the type of community we desire and envision.

Nicole has spent the majority of her professional life working within the non-profit sector with over twenty-five years of fundraising and senior leadership experience. In 2014 Nicole founded Boundless Philanthropy, a fundraising and organizational development consultancy. Prior to founding the consultancy, she was Director of Fund Development at Oxfam Canada, an international development non-governmental organization (INGO) and also a member of the organization's senior management team.

She has been a convenor and assistant coach for boys soccer in Brampton, volunteered with Carabram, served on the Board of the Association of Fundraising Professional (AFP Toronto) and is currently a mentor with the AFP Inclusion and Diversity Fellowship. She is an avid reader, sports and arts enthusiast.


Kisha Goode


Kisha Goode is a lifelong Brampton resident with years of experience working in non-profit organizations in Peel Region. She is passionate about community health, particularly in doing work to address health disparities present in disadvantaged populations. In believing that it is more blessed to give than receive, Kisha has volunteered in the community in various capacities for over 20 years.  In her free time she enjoys taking road trips, reading and connecting with family & friends.
